Energy
Energy self-sufficiency has been a reality at Santa Maria since its inception. Currently, this condition is provided through three hydroelectric plants: Salto São Pedro Small Hydroelectric Power Plant, located in the Municipality of Pinhão, Salto Curucaca Hydroelectric Power Plant in Guarapuava, and Três Capões Novo Small Hydroelectric Power Plant. Together, they have a generation potential of up to 48 MW. This is equivalent to the amount needed to supply a city with approximately 200,000 inhabitants.
